Rainbow Room – is an emergency resource room that is stocked with children’s clothing, diapers, wipes, shoes, coats, toys, hygiene items, cleaning supplies, lice treatment, snacks and many other items a family may need.  These items are available to the caseworker to distribute to children and families who are working with Child Protective Services at any time.

Graduation Showers – LCP gives a graduation shower to local seniors graduating high school who are in foster care and were never adopted.  The senior registers for items they will need for college and or the military and LCP along with the generous donors purchases items and celebrate the child’s accomplishments.

Child Abuse Awareness month  and Community Prayer – In order to increase awareness about child abuse, LCP hosts a community prayer for the children affected by abuse and neglect and the professions who work to reduce abuse in our community .  LCP also sells t-shirts during the month of April to raise awareness and funds to support the Rainbow room.

Thanksgiving Baskets – Caseworkers deliver baskets full of food and a certificate for a turkey to families involved with CPS that are not able to afford a Thanksgiving meal.  Each basket serves a family of 4 to 6 people.

Christmas gifts for children – CPS caseworkers submit Christmas wish lists from children who are involved with LCP.  LCP finds donors to purchase these children’s specific wishes to ensure they have a wonderful Christmas.

Caseworker appreciation – LCP recognizes that the CPS staff work very hard to protect the children in our county but receive very little thanks.  Throughout the year LCP finds ways to appreciate the caseworkers with breakfast, cookies and other small treats.
